In Memoriam: Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil

His Eminence Mar Varkey Vithayathil, C.Ss.R. was a close friend of the Jesus Youth movement. As head of the Syro Malabar Church, he played a pivotal role in fostering the growth of the movement especially in Kerala from where it began. 

The Jesus Youth family was blessed to have been visited by His Eminence during the recently held Jesus Youth Jubilee Conference. He spoke then about how our activities in the past 25 years have brought pride to Ernakulam, his diocese. His words of encouragement have been a constant channel of blessing.

Your Eminence, you will be greatly missed amongst us. Your thoughtful guidance and loving support will always be cherished.
