One of the backbone ministries which supports and strengthens all the other Jesus Youth ministries, initiatives and endeavours is the Intercession Ministry. In many places around the world, intercessory groups gather regularly to pray for the Church, the JY ministries and other prayer requests. Night vigils are also a regular feature. In some areas, centres for Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has also been initiated by Jesus Youth. The intercession ministry is also active through the website. A prayer board is available on the Jesus Youth website where prayer requests can posted. These requests are sent to a group of intercessors who take time to pray for these intentions. Intercessory groups are also sent a compiled list of all the prayer requests received along with the common petitions for the Church and society, and also Jesus Youth needs. This list is compiled and sent every 3 days. These groups spend at least an hour each week to pray for these intentions and reply to them if there is any specific message from the Lord.
