JY Office, Rexband studio blessing, Website Launch 12th Jan 2004 Palarivattom, Cochin
The long awaited inauguration of the new international office and the Rex Band studio and the relaunch of refurbished website all took place on 12th Jan 2004.
Many were working day and night under the able leadership of Manoj Sunny for the past so many weeks. The recent days were really hectic and those of us who went there only today could see the fruits of this well coordinated work. The whole office is so very well arranged and in the morning the whole floor was full of people from all over. There were Jesus Youth from UK and different Gulf countries, representatives from various states of India and many leaders from Kerala.
After we formally entered into the office premises the first part was the song and praise session led by the singers of the Rex Band. Most of the Band members were there. After that Fr. Abraham Pallivathukal SJ, Jesus Youth Pastor, spoke briefly about Jesus Youth family spirit and that the office is more than anything a home of the family. So the prayers of the blessing that followed were that of the blessing of a home. Father was repeatedly referring to the small way in which movement began and great dimensions it has assumed now.
The blessing was followed by the launch of Jesus Youth website. Thanks to the multimedia projector that our friends donated to the office the whole launch could be projected on to the screen. I spoke briefly about the initiative of Manoj Jones who started Jesus Youth website years back and about Giju, Mathew, Jacob and many other who worked selflessly to make this great network possible. After the launch of the new site with the help of Jacob I navigated through the various features of the site.
The third inauguration was that of the recording studio. Fr. Antony Urulianikal, the Pastor of the Rex Band is himself a well know music composer. He sang a piece that Alphonse and Stephen composed and it was so beautifully recorded. The event was preceded and succeeded by sessions of prayer and thanks giving.
The whole day was full of rejoicing and lively fellowshipping and a variety of meetings and discussions in all the different cubicles. By about noon Fr. Abraham celebrated the Holy Eucharist. Throughout the day and late into the night people have been streaming into the premises to have a look at the place and share in the joy of this eventful day.
