Leaders’ Training Programme, Middle East A Training Programme for the Jesus Youth leaders in the Middle East was held on 6th and 7th July 2006. The training, which focused on discipleship, was a beautiful experience in realizing the path and role of a Christian leader. Two renowned international speakers - Colin Calmiano and Jude Antoine were the resource persons for the days. They led the group through powerful input sessions with appropriate Biblical references and personal experiences. Around 50 participants from UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar attended this programme, aimed at building potential leaders in the Middle East. The participants of the training started gathering at the venue - St. Joseph’s Church, Abu Dhabi from 5th July evening onwards. The accommodation for these participants was arranged in host families of Abu Dhabi Jesus Youth The training began on 6th July at 8 o’clock in the morning. Colin and Jude took sessions on the following topics pertaining to leadership during the day : the 'Need of Formation', 'Discipleship', 'Conversion', 'Radical Commitment' and 'Qualities of Discipleship'. The day concluded at 10:00 p.m. after dinner. On the second day, input topics included ‘Constants in the life of a Disciple’, ‘Knowing the will of God’, ‘Heart of Leadership’ and the ‘Need and Urgency for Evangelisation’. A prayer service invoking the anointing of the Holy Spirit took place towards the conclusion of the training.
