On Saturday (13th November), the construction of the main pandhal for the Jubilee Conference kicked off in a big way with a blessing ceremony at the Venue grounds.

The lead-up to the event began at 7 am at the Sacred Heart College, Thevara (the venue of Jesus Youth ’85). An arecanut tree trunk was blessed here by Fr. Abraham Pallivathukal.  The trunk, which would form the central pole of the pandhal, was then carried in a procession across the city to the Venue nearly 19 kms away. The prayerful procession was accorded a warm welcome at many parishes along the way.

On reaching the Venue at 3 pm, Most Rev. Thomas Chakiath (Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam – Angamaly Archdiocese and Chairman of the Charismatic Commission, K.C.B.C) along with priests representing the Rajagiri College addressed the gathering and blessed the pole after which it was erected. This joyful ceremony was attended by more than 80 Jesus Youth.

Throughout the journey, chain rosaries & prayers were offered along with a Eucharistic Celebration. The procession which started with the crowd singing ‘Yeshuvin Yuvakal’ culminated with the Jubilee Theme Song. It was a journey from 1985 to 2010, from Thevara College to Rajagiri College, from 1000 people to 20500 people…and the journey continues…
