Inspired by Eph. 4:7, 11- 12, the African Mission Team conducted the first phase of Resource Training for Jesus Youth leaders in Uganda from September 6-8. Fourteen leaders, including two sisters and one religious brother, gathered for three days of spiritual growth and formation under the guidance of Santosh Mathew, Sebin Koshy, and Biju Viswanath. The training began with a Holy Mass and included sessions on discipleship, qualities of a resource person, effective session planning, spiritual preparation, and understanding Scripture.
The programme concluded with an anointing prayer, sending participants forth for their mission. This enriching experience was marked by God's presence and the Holy Spirit's guidance. The training enhanced understanding of evangelization, supported leader formation, and encouraged embracing responsibilities. It highlighted the importance of prayerful preparation for mission activities. We commit to praying for and supporting the mission, trusting that the seeds sown will yield fruit in abundance, thirty, sixty, and even a hundredfold.
Disciples Training Programme:
The 'Thy Kingdom Come' Discipleship Formation Programme in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was a transformative one-week journey for 17 participants from 6 Dioceses. Led by an esteemed resource team, including Santhosh Mathew, Midhun Paul, and Fr. David Mwebaza, the mostly university-student participants deepened their faith and leadership skills with remarkable openness and enthusiasm. This experience will continue through a 6-month discipleship journey, including mission placements and monthly gatherings. Six committed members will serve in Lira, Mtwara, and Dar es Salaam after a 3-day orientation, providing valuable insights for the future of the mission in Tanzania.
