Freya Francis, a dedicated member of Jesus Youth from India, has been appointed to the prestigious International Youth Advisory Body (IYAB) by the Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life. This significant appointment highlights the ongoing recognition of the Jesus Youth movement by the Universal Church.
The IYAB, composed of twenty young individuals from various regions across the globe, includes representatives from ecclesial movements, associations of the faithful, and new communities. Their proactive and consultative role allows them to collaborate with the Dicastery on key issues related to youth ministry and broader topics affecting the Church. While the body does not serve a representative or decision-making function, it plays a complementary role, ensuring that the work of episcopal conferences and ecclesial organizations continues without interference.
Freya’s appointment will be for a term of three years, beginning on September 25, 2024. The entire Jesus Youth family is encouraged to join in prayer for Freya as she embarks on this mission, asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in her contributions to the Church.
This appointment underscores the Church's trust in the Jesus Youth movement, reaffirming its active role in shaping the faith and mission of young people worldwide. News Report https://tinyurl.com/yhtxdptc
