ASSISI | ITALY
From November 28 at 7 PM to December 1 at 2 PM, 60 Jesus Youth leaders from 13 countries across Europe gathered in Assisi, Italy.
Listening sessions and the preparation of an action plan for the movement marked the gathering. CC Joseph, George Devassy, and Dr Midhun Paul facilitated the sessions, which culminated in the election of a new EU team for the term 2024–2027.
A dedicated time was set aside to celebrate Holy Mass at the Tomb of St. Francis of Assisi, where prayers were offered for the movement. Participants also embarked on a short pilgrimage to key sites associated with St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare, and Blessed Carlo Acutis.
The gathering was enriched by the presence of Bishop Mar Stephen Chirappanath, who anointed the new team and addressed the leaders. Fr. Johns George SDB, Fr. Justin Panachikkal MSFS, Fr. Shyjan Job SDB and Fr. Varghese Parakudiyil CRS also contributed profoundly to the event with their spiritual guidance.
The delegates returned to their countries with renewed zeal for the re-evangelization of Europe.
