A new chapter of faith and fellowship unfolded in December 2024 as Abin Varghese and Aleesha Mathew of the Jesus Youth Canada Leaders embarked on a vibrant mission to Newfoundland and Labrador. To foster connections and introduce the Jesus Youth lifestyle, their journey brought spiritual enrichment to communities in St. John’s and Corner Brook.

The mission was marked by Holy Mass, prayer meetings, and fellowship gatherings, with highlights including a Young Adults’ Prayer Gathering in St. John’s on December 26th. In Corner Brook, a teen gathering brought attention to the six pillars of the Jesus Youth movement, inspiring youth to actively participate in upcoming events like the Atlantic Youth Retreat.

The outreach revealed a profound yearning for spiritual growth. In Corner Brook, opportunities emerged for BeFree teen programs and family ministry, while St. John’s showed promise as a hub for youth gatherings, campus ministry, and music initiatives.

This mission has established a solid foundation for the growth of the Jesus Youth movement in the region. With plans for continued support and future gatherings led by local leaders, the initiative concluded on a hopeful note, leaving a lasting impact and setting the stage for deeper evangelization efforts.
