Synodal Listening Phase Consolidation
The Middle East-level consolidation of the Listening Phase was held in Bahrain on March 14–15, 2025, bringing together 40 key leaders from across the region. The purpose of the gathering was to prayerfully synthesize the fruits of spiritual conversations held throughout the Middle East as part of the synodal journey.
The consolidation process was led by Dr. Midhun Paul (International Council Coordinator), Raiju Varghese (former International Council Coordinator), Jomy Abraham (International Formation Team member), Santhosh Mathew (International Council Animator), Fr. Jerish Abraham (Chaplain – Middle East Team), and Mathew Thomas (Animator – Middle East Team).
A key aspect was the compilation of spiritual conversation data, undertaken by Biju V and Lijo Varghese, who structured it into a working document for discussion in various group sessions. Through deep sharing and reflection, participants sought to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and one another.
The gathering was blessed by the presence of His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi, O.Ss.T., Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, who offered words of encouragement and affirmed the importance of this synodal path.
This consolidation marks a significant step forward in the movement’s journey of unity, listening, and discernment – strengthening the spirit of communion across the Middle East.
