The Jesus Youth National Assembly, Qatar 2025 was held on 29th and 30th March 2025, bringing together committed members from across the nation for two days of reflection, renewal, and mission. The assembly was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Midhun Paul, Jesus Youth International Coordinator.
The event began with Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr. Benet Shanthanu (Assistant Parish Priest, Sri Lankan Community, OLR Church). The official inauguration followed, led by Fr. Rodel Aclan (Assistant Parish Priest, Filipino Community/AVONA Youth Spiritual Director) and Fr. Michael Vadakkeveettil (Syro-Malankara Community), alongside the ceremonial lamp lighting by the priests, Dr. Midhun Paul, Mr. Milton Paul (Middle East Coordinator), Mr. Varghese Francis (outgoing National Coordinator), and Mr. Jees Thomas (General Coordinator).
Day 1 – The day focused on the theme “Call and Gratitude”, with Ms. Wilma Mariya Soniya (JY International Council) guiding reflections on the challenges and opportunities in the movement’s mission. The evening concluded with a spiritually enriching adoration led by Fr. Augustine M.V, OFM Cap.
Day 2 – The day featured insightful updates from the Listening to the Movement process by Ms. Rini Jibin, and the National Evaluation Meeting 2024 by Mr. Jais Thomas, highlighting the joy of evangelization. Further reflections included ' The importance of Commitment in various ministries and self-examination' by ME coordinator Mr. Milton Paul; 'Sharing of life experiences' by Mr. Juttas Paul; Q & A session within leaders fostering grounded, practical discussions. Presentations by outgoing National Animators were “Reviewing Council Proposals & Feedback” by Mr. Jomon Paily and “Seasonal JY & Listening to the Spirit” by Dr. Vinod Antony Alexander.
Under the guidance of Dr. Midhun Paul, the National Council reconstitution was carried out, with over 80% member participation. A new 15-member team was elected and anointed during Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Savio Jose, OFM Cap.
