SPARK 25: First Jesus Youth Retreat in Kathmandu Ignites Faith and Renewal
From February 27 to March 2, 2025, the city of Kathmandu witnessed a historic moment as SPARK’25, the first-ever Jesus Youth Retreat in Nepal, was held at Don Bosco Institute, Thecho, Lalitpur. Organized under the Jesus Youth India Reachout, the retreat gathered 150 young people from parishes across the Kathmandu Deanery, marking a powerful step forward for the movement in the region.
Centered on the theme “Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you…” (2 Timothy 1:6), the retreat offered a space for deep spiritual renewal and transformation. Sessions explored topics like passion in spiritual life, making faith-based life choices, relationships, forgiveness, and inner healing. A compelling skit on the power of confession prompted profound reflection and encouraged openness to God's mercy.
Participants also experienced moments of grace and renewal through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Holy Mass, and the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. The retreat was filled with powerful worship, testimonies, and deep encounters with Christ, inspiring young people to strengthen their faith and commitment to the mission of the Church.
SPARK’25 left a lasting impact, igniting faith, personal transformation, and a renewed missionary zeal among the youth of Kathmandu.
