The Jesus Youth National Council gathered for its annual National Evaluation Meeting (NEM) from May 1–3, 2026, at the St. Joseph Vaz Spirituality Centre, Old Goa. The meeting brought together national leaders, coordinators, and representatives from across India for a time of prayer, reflection, evaluation, and discernment for the mission of the movement.
The gathering commenced on May 1 with a special session for coordinators, followed by two days of presentations, discussions, reflections, and common times of Eucharistic Adoration and prayer. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the journey of Jesus Youth in India over the past year and to prayerfully identify priorities for the future.
A significant highlight of the event was the release of a document by Dr. Midhun Paul, International Coordinator of Jesus Youth, presenting the consolidated outcomes of the global Listening to the Movement synodal process conducted across various regions of the world in recent months. The document offered valuable insights into the hopes, challenges, and mission priorities emerging from the worldwide Jesus Youth community.
Through a process of collective discernment, participants identified three key focus areas for the coming year:
- Fellowship and Community Building
- Reach-Out Mission
- Formation (Jesus Youth and Leadership)
The National Evaluation Meeting concluded on May 3 with a deeply prayerful celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, where the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier are venerated. The concluding liturgy served as a fitting culmination to the gathering, entrusting the mission and future initiatives of Jesus Youth India to the Lord.
The National Evaluation Meeting 2026 was a grace-filled experience that strengthened the unity of Jesus Youth India, renewed its missionary commitment, and inspired participants to move forward with greater zeal in serving the Church and society.
